Inspection of Knitted Wire Mesh

Where the physical integrity of the knitted wire mesh is a critical factor, such as when the mesh is part of an electrical circuit, individual rolls of mesh can be visually inspected to ensure no defects are present.

Each roll of mesh is passed over a light table, allowing the operator to inspect the wire and test for mis-shapen stitches, damaged or broken wires.

Checking there are no defects in the mesh reduces the chance of future damage to sensitive components in the final application or assembly.

For high volume testing of components pressed or formed from knitted mesh, KnitMesh uses an automated computer imaging system to monitor component dimensions and tolerances as they pass through the manufacturing cell.
